Introducing PR coach co.

The purpose behind our sister brand…

We have launched a sister brand and it has never felt more important. PR coach Co. is a coaching service for Freelance PR’s looking to build an agile, creative and fulfilling career. Below Rachel gives her reasons behind launching this offer and what she hopes to achieve. Starting with changing the narrative on remote work.

Freelancing Isn’t the Easy Route. It’s the Intentional One.

There’s a bit of a myth floating around that freelancing and remote work are somehow the easier option. That working from home in comfy clothes means less stress, fewer deadlines, and more freedom. And yes, you can wear comfy clothes. But it takes real work.

Curating a client list that excites you, managing budgets that reflect your value, setting and holding boundaries, learning when to say no (and when to say yes. These are tough skills to learn and hone. And I make wrong decisions all the time - but sometimes I make the right ones - and they are the ones that keep me moving forward.

Freelancing means taking full responsibility for your time, your income, your career growth, and your creative energy. It’s empowering, but it also takes grit. But - I wouldn’t trade it for anything for this time in my life.

Designing a Work Life That Actually Works

Right now, I’m a very present parent. I don’t have family nearby to help out. I don’t have a nanny/childminder who can shuttle my kids to football, swimming, cheerleading, playdates, and all the other parts of childhood that I don’t want my kids to miss out on.

My work schedule needs to fit around that. And it does - because I’ve built it that way.

But it requires boundaries. It requires discipline. And it’s taken years to fine tune. The flexibility I have now wasn’t given to me. I designed it, deliberately and sometimes painfully, because the alternative wasn’t possible for me and my family anymore.

On top of that, (believe it or not!) I’m an introverted extrovert. I love working with dynamic, ambitious people, but I also need space to recharge. My home office is more than just a workspace - it’s my happy place (when it’s tidy and the washing isn’t drying in it! - let’s be honest!). But it is a place where I can think clearly, create freely, and work in a way that’s truly mine.

Helping Others Do the Same

Today, I coach freelance PR’s who want to create this kind of work-life alignment for themselves. I know how hard it is to believe this kind of career is possible (and lucrative) - especially when it feels like you’re juggling all the things.

But I also know that it is possible.

With clarity, strategy, and the right support, you can create a freelance life that suits you - your needs, your goals, your pace (remember slow can sometimes be better).

Whether you’re just starting to think about going freelance or you’ve already taken the leap and want to refine your business, I’m here to help.

If you have a friend who could benefit from this post - then please share this with them. Or if this resonates with you, I’d love to hear your story. What kind of work-life are you dreaming of? What’s standing in your way?

Let’s change the narrative together.
